Hazardous materials are common risks in many of today’s workplaces, with the health concerns associated with chemicals, fumes, gases, liquids, mists, dusts and biological agents having the ability to cause ill health or even fatality.
With this in mind, fitted face protection is a priority throughout these work environments, but its effectiveness when protecting workers from substances hazardous to health relies on this equipment being used properly. That’s where our Face Fit Train the Trainer course comes in…
Making sure you have the knowledge and skills to successfully train workers is vital across all areas of workplace safety. This couldn’t be truer in workplaces where there’s a risk of exposure to hazardous materials.
Our Face Fit Train the Trainer course gives trainers everywhere the grounding they need to deliver a high standard of training on the use of fitted face protection to safeguard the health and wellbeing of workers, and keep employers legally compliant.
Keeping your workers protected from hazards, such as substances that could harm health, is a legal responsibility for every employer in the UK. Under current Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations, you must ensure that all face pieces are fitted and worn correctly to minimise the risk of exposure.
Our 2-day Face Fit Train the Trainer course covers several areas to ensure a holistic view of fitted face protection. This includes the importance of face fit testing, the identification of breathable hazards, the effects of inhalation, types of respiratory protective equipment (RPE), the selection of half mask respirators and filters, and common RPE issues and how to solve them.
Following the completion of our Face Fit Train the Trainer course, every delegate should have a solid grounding in the use, fitting and maintenance of RPE as well as fit test failures and the structuring of general training.
Our Face Fit Train the Trainer course can be undertaken by both new and experienced trainers. In fact, there are no prerequisites to attending the course.
Upon completion, all delegates will receive RoSPA Assured National Training Services Instructor Certification. This is valid for a period of 3 years. If you have completed this training before, we recommend that you undertake a 1-day refresher course.
