Safety Harness Train the Trainer with NTS

Safety Harness Train the Trainer course

Keeping workers safe on the job is an important responsibility for every employer. With this in mind, the use of the safety harness has become integral across many industry sectors.

This vital piece of safety equipment is used across construction sites, roofing projects, industrial settings, renewable energy installations, and domestic and commercial tree care to name but a few applications. As any of our trainers will tell you however, it is not the harness but knowing how to use it that saves lives.

According to data from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), falls from height account for 36% of all fatal workplace injuries in the UK. The latest statistics have also found that this figure is on the rise when compared with incidents in previous years.

Skipping safety harness training puts workers at significant risk, with the results of related workplace injuries changing the lives of not just those affected but the people around them.

There’s a risk of a fall from height if an employee or contractor is working two or more metres above ground or floor level, could fall from an edge or through a surface, or could fall from ground level through an opening. By providing access to safety harness training, you’ll be minimising this risk and keeping them safe.

The Work at Height Regulations 2005 aim to minimise the risk of death and injury caused by falls from height at work. This legislation provides vital insights for employers, building owners and facilities managers who oversee employees that work at height or contract others to.

By law, it is your responsibility to ensure that projects that require work at height are sufficiently planned, adequately supervised and competently carried out. This includes but is not limited to providing the right equipment and training for working at height.
