Face Fit Train the Trainer with NTS

Our Face Fit Train the Trainer course

When handling hazardous substances safely, health and safety training certainly matters. One of the basics of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) legislation is ensuring workers are fully protected from harmful substances, and any associated risks assessed, controlled and prevented. This includes protecting the eyes and faces of employees from splashes and harmful fumes, and preventing the inhalation of potentially dangerous dusts and gases.

With this in mind, the use of fitted face protection is crucial to upholding a high standard of health and safety across many high-risk industry sectors.

Face fit training provides the support and guidance workers need to guarantee workplace safety in hazardous environments and minimise the risks of exposure to hazardous materials through the use of fitted face protection.

Fitted face protection – or respiratory protective equipment (RPE) as it is officially known – is only effective when worn correctly. Equipment, such as face pieces, must be tight fitting to protect the wearer fully and pass the RPE fit testing that is applicable across many industry sectors.

The correct selection, use and maintenance of respiratory protective equipment isn’t just required by law. It is integral to the health and safety of workers.

By wearing RPE properly, you’ll be protected from a variety of hazardous materials. This includes asbestos, which is known for causing mesothelioma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer that develops within the lungs.

More about our Face Fit Train the Trainer

This 2 day RoSPA Assured course will ensure that you have the knowledge that you need to ensure workplace safety in environments where there’s a risk of exposure to a wide range of hazardous materials.

Fitted Face Protection is only effective when it fits correctly, if there is any break in the seal of a tight-fitting face piece there is the risk of exposure and to workers’ health. In order to meet the legal obligations under the current COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations, it’s vital to ensure that all face pieces are fitted and worn correctly. There are no prerequisites to attend this training.

Our Face Fit Training can complement our Asbestos Awareness Training as it’s required under both the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 ACoP L143 (paragraph 196) and the Control of Lead at Work Regulations 2002 ACoP L132 (paragraph 133). PUWER Regulations and COSHH Regulations
