  • Standing for long periods can cause health problems

    The TUC have recently stated that workers who have to stand for too long whilst working take 2 million sick days per year with leg ailments!

  • Workload stops managers from taking holidays

    A survey by the Chartered Management Institute has revealed that most managers are fearful of the impact of their absense. 68 percent of those surveyed respond to requests from their employer whilst on holiday - see the article here 

  • HSE help you to calculate the costs of poor health and safety

    The HSE have a "ready reckoner" website. Its main aim is to promote the message that "Good Health and Safety is Good Business". Using case studies and calculators it shows us how we can increase morale, productivity and ulitmately profits. click here to have a look.

  • Trade Union Congress calls on the General Council to press for regulations and an Approved Code of Practice on stress
  •   

    The TUC are concerned about the rising tide of work related stress across all sectors of industry in the UK. They would like to see new regulations enforced and an approved code of practice on stress, to be backed by a funded programme of HSE enforcement.
