Course Schedule:
Course Aim:
To enable trainees to achieve an understanding of the basic requirements of health and safety relating to their duties.
Suitable for:
Individuals selected for the role of safety representative.
Duration:
Two days
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the course, the participant will be able to display and understanding of:
- State the legal responsibilities of both the company and themselves.
- Outline the procedure for risk assessment.
- Carry out effective monitoring of control measures.
- List the reporting procedures for health and safety problems in the workplace.
- Demonstrate a model of communication for resolving health and safety issues.

- Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 – Responsibilities.
- Risk Assessment process.
- Monitoring controls in the workplace.
- Organisation and reporting.
- Communication in health and safety.
- Behavioural safety.
Assessment Criteria:
The training is interactive with the emphasis on participation.
There will be a written question paper however it is not pass or fail.
The training will be focussed on the application in the trainees own working environment.
