Correct and Safe Use of Portable Power Tools Instructors Course (Two days)

Course Aim:

To enable the candidate to train operatives in the correct and safe use of portable power tools in compliance with the relevant regulations.

Course Schedule:

• Regulations overview
• Pre-use checks "5 steps" including;
  i. Workplace checks
  ii. Machine checks
  iii. Personal checks including PPE
  iv. Use of the Equipment
  v. After use checks
• Use of the equipment (Drills) including:
  i. Hazards arising from use
  ii. Precautions to be observed
• Use of the equipment (Grinders)
• Use of the equipment (Circular saws)
• Structuring and delivering the training.
• Practical assessments
• Written test

Please Note:

The training involves candidate participation with the emphasis on the practical element of the training.
Candidates should be familiar with power tools prior to the course.

The training is generic and enables the candidate to train operatives on other tools not covered on the course.
On day two the candidate will carry out a practical training session on which they will be assessed.
