A City & Guilds Accredited and Certificated Course

Course Aim:

To enable the candidate to carry out their own courses to train operatives in safe material handling in compliance with the relevant regulations.

Course Content:

• Regulations: What is required
• Manual handling activities
• Factors that cause the problem
• The outcome of poor manual handling
• Task analysis: Task - Individual - Load - Environment
• Kinetic handling techniques practical including - Lifting, Lowering, Pushing, Pulling and Carrying
• Team Lifting
• Lifting aids
• Structuring and delivering the training
• Practical assessments
• Written Test

The training involves candidate participation with the emphasis on the practical element of the training. On day two the candidate will carry out a practical training session on which they will be assessed.
