Health and Safety for Safety Representatives
Course Aim: To enable trainees to achieve an understanding
of the basic requirements of health and safety
relating to their duties.
This course can be adapted to the specific
needs of the company.
Duration: Minimum one day, length depending on company
requirements
Suitable for: Staff allocated health and safety responsibilities
Learning outcomes: By the end of the course, the participant
will be able to:

State the legal responsibilities of both
the company and themselves.

Outline the procedure for risk assessment.

Carry out effective monitoring of control
measures.

List the reporting procedures for health
and safety problems in the workplace.

Demonstrate a model of communication for
resolving health and safety issues.
Course covers:

Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 –
responsibilities.

Risk Assessment process.

Monitoring controls in the workplace.
-
Organisation and reporting.
-
Communication in health and safety.
-
Behavioural safety.
There will be a written assessment paper.
NTS certificates are issued to all trainees.
Candidates receive a workbook covering all
the underpinning knowledge from the course.
