Award
Course Aim: To enable candidates to carry out their own
courses training operatives in the use, safe
selection and mounting of abrasive wheels
in accordance with the relevant regulations.
Duration: Two days
Machines covered: Bench Grinders, Angle Grinders, Petrol Cutters
(Stihl Saw) Clipper Saw, Chop Saws etc.
Suitable for: People with responsibility for training operatives
Learning outcomes: By the end of the course, the participant
will be able to display an understanding of:
· Types of wheels, markings, manufacture
· British Standard Marking System
· Storage, handling and transportation
· Methods of testing
· Blotters, flanges, locknuts, mounting and
balancing
· Wheel dressing, adjustment of the rest
· Requirements of the regulations
· Use of abrasive wheels including risks and
precautions.
· Structuring and delivering the training
· Practical assessments, testing their trainees
The training involves candidate participation
with the emphasis on the practical. On day
two the candidate will carry out a practical
training session on which they will be assessed.
Certificates are issued to all attendees.
Trainer’s Pack: Candidates will receive a full trainer’s
pack including software with PowerPoint,
lesson plan and all course materials required
to deliver the course.
